The integration of the AT-COR module with editors is made by submitting http requests to a web service or by delivering an ActiveX control that can be invoked by the client's own text-editing program.
AT-COR processes texts linearly and detects incorrect elements through the use of dictionaries of words and expressions that make it possible to locate typing (typographical syntax), orthographic, morphological, syntactic and, also, stylistic errors. All linguistic aspects can be customised to respect the criteria defined by each organisation.
Unlike other proofreaders in the market the system can analyse the following types of errors:
- General typing and spelling errors.
- Transfer errors from other languages.
- Detection of "dequeismo, antidequeismo, loismo, laismo, leismo" - typical grammatical errors in Spanish.
- Gender and number agreement between nouns and adjectives.
- Agreement between verbal and adverbial tenses.
- Errors in verbal tenses.
- Errors in auxiliary verbs.
- Formal text errors (punctuation, signs).
- Stylistic editing standards.
- Unsuitable language (sexist or discriminatory).
Once the text is processed, AT-COR marks errors in the texts, so that the user can take the appropriate steps to correct them. The programme offers alternative solutions, in order to facilitate the task of manual revision. The most frequent correct suggestions are shown in each case.
The person that edits the document can add terms to their personal dictionary that also are viewed by linguistic managers, who in turn analyse whether it is necessary to add them to the organisation or specialised working group's specialised dictionaries. In this way, terminological coherence is ensured, so things are always referred to in the same way.
